– I count myself as having 2 hometowns, as I was born in Vancouver, BC and then moved to Old Lyme, CT, so I count both.

Facts about Vancouver, BC

Vancouver is a major metropolis and is known to some as the “Hollywood of the North”, as many TV shows are shot there.93% of electricity in Vancouver is generated using sustainable resources. It is very expensive to live in Vancouver, as it has the highest real estate rates in Canada, but it has been rated as one of the top livable cities.  Vancouver has the 4th largest cruise ship terminal in the world and one of the mildest climates in Canada.

Facts about Old Lyme, CT

– Lyme disease was named after the town when it was discovered in 1975 after a mysterious outbreak of what appeared to be juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. The town itself is name after Lyme, England and the year-round population is about 8,000, with a few thousand more visitors every summer to visit the beaches. There is a large artist population that was started with Florence Griswold in 1899 and her house is currently a museum.
